Guided Fishing Tours in Alaska & Russia

Overview of Our Fishing Programs

Our fishing programs feature some of the world’s best coldwater angling opportunities in the wildest waters of the north Pacific. On our river trips, a wide range of species can be taken: all six forms of Pacific salmon, in season, plus rainbow/steelhead trout, three species of charr, grayling (three species), pike (two species) and Siberian taimen. Although we specialize in fly fishing, all legal methods can be used on our Alaska and Siberian taimen fishing expeditions. For the rivers of Kamchatka, only fly fishing is allowed for foreign visitors.

Let us know what kind of fishing you are especially interested in and we can suggest the best location, timeframe and other considerations to help in your vacation planning. We encourage you to read some of the material posted on our articles page to learn more about the kinds of experiences we offer. Also, our publications provide some of the best information in print on the various sportfishing opportunities available in Alaska and Russia’s Far East.

What We Provide on Our Trips

On all our fishing trips in Alaska and Russia, we provide all the necessary transportation, accommodations, meals, license fees, guides and rafting/camping equipment for a multiday wilderness float fishing expedition departing from (and returning to) a specified point of departure. This will vary on the fishing adventures in Alaska, but is always the gateway city of Petropavlovsk on the Kamchatka trips. You must provide your own personal gear and fishing equipment (per our recommended gear lists that we will send you upon booking). You also are responsible for the flight arrangements to and from Alaska or Russia. (We can provide assistance through our travel affiliates.) Also not included are hotel and meal costs incurred by extended layovers due to weather or other factors beyond our control, tips, gratuities and fees for Visa processing.

Travel Documents & Booking Arrangements

For the Russia fishing excursions, you’ll need a current Passport good through the year. We’ll send you all the additional documents necessary for securing a valid Tourist Visa, a process that usually takes a couple of weeks. A 50% deposit will secure a reservation on the trip of your choice, with balance due no later than 60 days prior to departure. Because spaces on these special trips are limited, you should make a commitment as soon as possible (contact us for exact trip dates). Group size averages 6-8 people plus guides.

As these trips require active physical participation, you must be in reasonably good health and capable of getting in and out of rafts, wading in streams, assisting in setting up camp, and hiking short distances. Also please alert us when booking of any medical constraints or dietary restrictions that will require special accommodations.
